How can even an extra tooth ruin confidence
Patient Overview:
Mr. Anil, who works at a 5-star restaurant and interacts with customers every day, became increasingly conscious of his smile due to an extra tooth (also known as a supernumerary tooth) in the upper front teeth. The extra tooth impacted his confidence when smiling and communicating; it also affected his front-tooth alignment and caused an improper bite.
When Mr. Anil visited us at Dr. Gul’s Dental Clinic, his concern was not only about removing the extra tooth. He was also worried about the gap that could remain after extraction and wanted a treatment plan that would address both the extra tooth and the resulting space.
Dr. Gul Zehra conducted a detailed evaluation using advanced technology, such as an intraoral scan to assess tooth alignment and an OPG (orthopantomogram) to examine the extra tooth and surrounding structures, to gain a comprehensive understanding of his oral health. Based on the findings, a two-stage treatment plan was developed, including extraction of the tooth, followed by braces.
The first step involved carefully removing the extra tooth from the upper front region. After extraction, braces were placed to gradually close the space, improve tooth alignment, and correct the bite.

Once treatment was completed, Mr. Anil was happy with the results and smiling with joy. The transformation helped him feel more comfortable and confident while interacting with customers and colleagues.
This case highlights how a combination of planned extraction and orthodontic treatment can effectively manage both the functional and aesthetic concerns caused by a supernumerary tooth.
